Certificate Fee
Each Mobile Money Provider seeking Certification must pay a $16,000 fee to the Scheme Operator. This is payable in two segments: half ($8,000) upon submission of the application, and the balance payable after the Assessor has completed its final report but before the Scheme Operator publishes Certification results. All Certificate fees are payable in U.S. dollars. Pricing for non-members is $25,000.
Accredited Assessor Fees
In addition to the Certificate fee, each Mobile Money Provider must contract with an Accredited Assessor. The cost for this assessment will vary and shall be negotiated separately between the MMP and Assessor. However, Mobile Money Certification Scheme rules specify that the fee charged by the Accredited Assessor may not exceed USD $22,500.
Accredited Consultant Fees
Finally, an MMP may, at its sole discretion, elect to hire an Accredited Consultant to assist it in preparing for the Certification process. Because hiring a Consultant is optional, the Mobile Money Certification Scheme does not offer guidelines on pricing, which will vary based on the scope of work required.
